Speakers:

G. Ryan Macfarlaner
FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Cleveland Division

Ryan Macfarlane is a Supervisory Special Agent for one of the Cleveland Division’s Cyber Squads, which investigates and pursues those responsible for highly complex criminal and national security related computer intrusions. Ryan has investigated intrusions at Google, RSA, and numerous defense contractors, typically performing malware analysis, incident response, and malicious network traffic analysis. In December of 2016, Ryan was responsible for the arrest and extradition of a criminal hacking group from Eastern Europe that was the number one distributor of malware via email in 2016. Ryan started his career with the FBI in the Los Angeles Field Office, and spent two years in Washington, DC on the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force, which is a multi-agency cyber center responsible for coordinating, integrating, and sharing analysis among over 20 intelligence, law enforcement, and foreign partners in support of countering global cyber threats.

Ryan has a Computer Science degree from Georgia Tech, and before joining the FBI in 2004, he worked for IBM, i2 Technologies, and an Internet Security start up based in Atlanta.

Jeremy Mio, Information Security Officer
Cuyahoga County, Office of Security and Research

Jeremy works at a local government as the Information Security Officer directing the Office of Security and Research and is co-founder of CodeRed LLC that focuses on Cyber Security, Application Development, and Leadership. Jeremy has been on the Northeast Ohio InfraGard executive board and currently IT Sector Chief. He also serves as Co-Chair for workgroups within the Center of Internet Security and works on threat data projects for various entities. He previously worked in Risk Management and Security in Fortune 500 companies. He has presented and involved at various conferences and organizations such as the CCDC, NEOISF, ClevSec, Bsides, FBICAAA, Stop.Think.Connect, CSOXchange, Ohio Cyber Day, DerbyCon, SecureWV, EngeryTech, and the Ohio Information Security Summit. On his spare time, he enjoys conducting research on the evolution of security convergence, drones, weapon systems, and scuba diving.

Ian Smith
Datto, Inc.

After joining Autotask in 2016 as an Account Executive, Ian joined the Business Development team in 2018 as a Channel Development Rep. He currently focuses his efforts on spreading the Datto message and preparing partners for long-term success. A native of Washington, DC, he moved to Texas in 2013 to focus on the technology industry.

Scott C. Roberts
Sophos, Channel Sales Engineer

Scott Roberts is the regional Sales Engineer for Sophos, a UK based Cybersecurity Company which specializes in Advanced Endpoint, Mobile Device Management, Endpoint Encryption, Email Filtering and Next-Generation Network Appliance Solutions.

Before joining Sophos, Scott was an engineer at Fortinet, focusing on commercial and enterprise firewall deployments, branch-office optimization and centralized management. Prior to that, Scott spent 20 years as an IT consultant to commercial, medical, defense and regional government organizations.

When not wrapped up in the Cybersecurity world, he enjoys spending time with his family of 7 kids and shooting weddings with his wife, a full-time photographer.
